The very recently released iOS 4.3.3 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch can be jailbroken using redsn0w 0.9.6rc14. This step by step tutorial will teach you how to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 tethered using redsn0w. Bear in mind that iOS 4.3.3 jailbreak using redsn0w is of tethered nature at this time. Tethered jailbreak means that you will have to connect your iOS device with your computer every time you reboot it.
Remember: If you rely on a carrier unlock for your iPhone, it is advised that you maintain distance from stock iOS 4.3.3 at this time, because upgrading to stock iOS 4.3.3 will upgrade your baseband causing you to lose your iPhone unlock.
Step 1: Download iOS 4.3.3 as well as iOS 4.3.2 (redsn0w needs it for 4.3.3 jailbreak) for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Step 2: Open iTunes and restore your device to iOS 4.3.3.
Step 3: Download Redsn0w. Extract the file and then run the program.
Step 4: Click on Browse and navigate to the path where you’re stored the previously downloaded iOS 4.3.2.ipsw file. Don't point redsn0w to the iOS 4.3.3.ipsw file.
Step 5: Click Open. Redsn0w 0.9.6rc14 will now verify the .ipsw file. Once verification successfully completes, you will be shown the following message:
Step 6: Click Next. You will now be presented a couple of options. Check Install Cydia then click Next. You can also select any of the additional options given here.
Step 7: It is crucial that you make sure the device is both powered OFF as well as PLUGGED IN. Once you’ve made sure of that, click Next.
Step 8: Redsn0w will now present instructions on how to put your device in DFU mode. Simply follow the onscreen instructions to put your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in DFU mode.
First, hold the Power button for 3 seconds. Then without releasing the Power button, press and hold the Home button for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, release the Power button but keep on holding the Home button for about 15 seconds. Your device will now enter DFU mode.
Step 9: Wait for Redsn0w to work its magic. From this point onwards, you don’t need to do anything. After a series of automated steps have completed on your computer, the rest will be automatically done on your iOS device. Once the process is complete, your device will restart and it will be running tethered jailbroken iOS 4.3.3.
Step 10: In order to run Cydia on your device or do anything that is related to jailbreak, you have to boot in tethered mode. Simply run Cydia and select the “Just boot tethered right now” to boot tethered jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in jailbreak mode.
FYI: If you're tired of re-installed your jailbroken apps with each new firmware upgrade, here's how to back up your jailbroken iOS apps.
