If you've used an iPad, you'll know what I'm talking about. On the iPhone and iPod touch, mobile Safari allows you to scroll through previews of the tabs you have open, whereas the iPad shows mobile Safari tabs in a grid layout. Ever wondered whether it was possible to get grid layout for Safari on iPhone and iPod touch? Well that's possible courtesy of a jailbreak tweak called GridTab for Safari. It's not free though, GridTab for Safari can be bought via Cydia for $0.99.
Nevertheless, before you can start using GridTab for Safari, you first need to jailbreak your device. The following detailed and easy step-by-step guides will let you jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 untethered using sn0wbreeze 2.7 (windows),pwnagetool 4.3.3 (mac) and redsn0w 0.9.6rc15(mac/windows). If you’re on iOS 4.3.2, here’s how you can untether 4.3.2 jailbreak using sn0wbreeze 2.6(windows), pwnagetool 4.3.2 (mac) and redsnow 0.9.6rc14 (mac/windows).
Step 1: Fire up Cydia on your iPhone or iPod touch. Note that you can't use this tweak on an iPad, because Safari on iPad by default shows tabs in grid layout.
Step 2: Go to Search and type GridTab for Safari. Purchase and download it.
That's just about it. There are no further steps or settings. Simply head over to Safari and open a couple of tabs. You'll instantly notice the grid layout of tabs in Safari on iPhone and iPod touch.
