This guide will tell you how to save Apple TV 2G SHSH blobs using the recently released iFaith. If you want to learn how to save SHSH blobs of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch using iFaith, please follow our detailed step-by-step guide given here.
Step 1: Download iFaith for Windows (The Mac version is coming soon)
Step 2: Extract the downloaded file and run iFaith.exe. If your antivirus recognizes it as a virus, you must disable it before you can use iFaith. The reason is iFaith copies itself to app data folder and executes from there, causing most antivirus program to think that this is a virus in itself, when it isn’t. Click on Dump SHSH Blobs to go on the next step.
iFaith then shows you information that you need to know before using the program. It is advised that you carefully go through all of it. Click on Proceed and iFaith will ask you whether or not you're dumping an Apple TV 2G. Click on Yes.
Step 3: iFaith will then show instructions on how to put your Apple TV 2G in DFU mode. Keep in mind that this is not a pwned DFU state, and you'll be able to use your Apple TV 2G without doing any kind of restore, once iFaith completes its processes. You must follow these instructions exactly as iFaith tells you to. Press both Menu and Play/Pause button on your Apple TV 2G remote together for 7 seconds, then release both the buttons and wait for ~30 seconds, your device will now be in DFU mode.
iFaith will then start dumping SHSH blobs of your Apple TV 2G.
Step 4: Once it completes its processes, iFaith will prompt you to save the SHSH blobs cache on your hard drive, before backing it up to its remote server. Navigate to the path where you want to save this cache. It is also advised that you email the cache to yourself, just in case you ever lose the data on your hard drive.
