iFaith, the mystery project of iH8sn0w, developer of sn0wbreeze has finally been released. iFaith is the first public SHSH blobs dumper for iOS devices. Not only does iFaith grab SHSH blobs from your device and saves it on your HDD, it even backs up the SHSH blobs to its remote server. Hence making it easy for you to simply search through saved SHSH blobs and build a signed IPSW out of them. iFaith also lets you create IPSWs using these SHSH blobs, meaning that now downgrading firmware on your iOS device, will be as easy as upgrading it via iTunes.
Step 1: Download iFaith for Windows. (Mac version coming soon)
Step 2: Extract the file and run iFaith.exe. If your antivirus recognizes it as a virus, you must disable it before you can use iFaith. The reason is iFaith copies itself to app data folder and executes from there, causing most antivirus program to think that this is a virus in itself, when it isn't. Click on Dump SHSH Blobs to go on the next step
iFaith now shows you information that you need to know before using this program. It is advised that you read all of this carefully. Once you have done that, click on Proceed.
Step 3: iFaith will now show you instructions to put your device in DFU mode. Keep in mind that this is not the pwned DFU state iREB puts your device into for restoration of custom firmware. You'll be able to use the device normally after the SHSH blobs dumping procedure completes.
You must follow the instructions exactly as iFaith tells you to. To put your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in DFU mode, first hold both the Home and Power button together for 10 seconds, then release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for ~30 seconds. Your device will now be in DFU mode, then iFaith will recognize it and will start working its magic.
Once iFaith successfully grabs the SHSH blobs from your device, it will ask you to navigate to the path where you want to save the SHSH cache on your hard drive. To avoid losing your SHSH cache, it is advised that you email it to yourself , just to be safe. After saving the cache on your hard drive, iFaith will then back up the cache on its remote server.
When all of the processes completed, iFaith will show the following message:
That's it! You have now successfully saved the SHSH blobs of the firmware running on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. So even if Apple stops signing the firmware whose SHSH blobs you have saved, you can simply create an IPSW of that firmware and restore your device to it via iTunes.
