We've updated you on all the details of iOS 5 as soon as it was announced at WWDC 2011. iOS 5 isn't releasing until Fall 2011, but developers can download iOS 1 beta 1 today. However, even if you're not a developer we have found a way for you to download iOS 5 beta 1 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. However, before you do that, you also need iTunes 10.5 beta for your Windows and Mac.

iTunes 10.5 beta brings support for iOS 5 and for those iCloud features that aren't supported by the public iTunes 10.3 beta. Yes, iTunes 10.5 beta is only available to registered developers, however, we will be providing you with the free iTunes 10.5 beta download links here.

You will notice some appearance changes in iTunes 10.5 beta and options to disable iCloud's over-the-air downloads option. The iTunes 10.5 beta download links are given below, please download at your discretion. We won't be responsible for anything. Links courtesy of jailbreakzone.

      Try removing any older installation of iTunes from your computer before downloading iTuns 10.5 beta 1.

        so, i remove my current vercion and then download the beta?

        I have removed all traces of old iTunes, restarted, run registry mechanic and removed all old reg files, restarted again then downloaded and installed iTunes 10.5 but it still won;t boot at all!!!! Any ideas its driving me crazy!!

          Try downloading iTunes 10.5 from a completely different source.

      iTunes can be a difficult beast. Even with strange issues trying to repair it. Correct Directions for a complete uninstall of iTunes on a Windows Vista/7 machine.

      Also just to note backup your .itl files before you upgrade to 10.5 beta… Best to backup the entire iTunes lib anyways (after all first 3 rules of computing backup, backup, backup).

      Don’t be afraid to look at the task manager for iTunes.exe, iTuneshelper etc.

    Assuming you’re on Windows. Go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall and Program. Select iTunes from the list and click on uninstall. Restart your computer once after uninstallation completes. Proceed to download iTunes 10.5 beta now.

      And if i allready downloaded the beta zip file , can i just extract the zip files?

      Yes i do. Its a Windows PC. I have also posted a video of how to restore iOS 5 beta 1 on iOS Devices using that same computer running iOS 5 beta 1.

    I have the same problem uninstalled itunes 10.3 downloaded and installed 10.5 and it doesnt open after rebooting - tried uninstalling again and re-installing no luck W7 64bit

      You are mistaken on that sir. iTunes 10.5 beta is available for Windows. We have used it to update our devices to iOS 5 beta 1.

    How do I preserve my backups, music, movies, and other media? I have a mac PowerPC G5 processor and I want to delete the beta as soon as I upgrade to iOS 5 cuz I’ll downgrade soon after I use it. Can I save the iTunes as a separate application on my computer as the real iTunes I use so when I delete the beta I will still have all my backups and stuff on the other iTunes?

      hey there, im a user who is currently running on windowd 7 professional 32-bit. Just download the iTunes 10.5 - the one saying: iTunes 10.5 (Windowd x86/32-bit). Once finish download, uninstall your old iTunes , and wait for it to finish, then install the iTunes 10.5 , after that dont reboot, click ok iTunes and it should work. This works for me.

    ahahah, this is great just uninstall itunes 10.3 and install this on, somehow all my music on 10.2 went to 10.5 i was surpise at this ahah, but thanks for this i like it!

    If iTunes 10.5 does not open after re-boot go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall Program > Locate iTunes > Click repair when done re-open iTunes
