JailbreakMe 3.0 may jailbreak iPad 2 soon enough. Up till now we haven't seen any legitimate solution for jailbreaking the iPad 2. However, considering a recent development, it is highly likely that JailbreakMe 3.0 may jailbreak iPad 2 after all.
If you knew about jailbreaking back in the day of iOS 4.0, you'll definitely know about JailbreakMe. Developed by Comex of the iPhone Dev Team, JailbreakMe used a userland exploit to jailbreak devices running iOS 4.0 and 4.0.1. The exploit was patched in iOS 4.0.2. Jailbreaking your device using JailbreakMe was as simple as going to jailbreakme.com on your iOS device and then sliding the bar to jailbreak your device. It was literally as simple as that.
Now a couple of hours back, Comex updated the JailbreakMe website, which was long abandoned since the exploit was patched, with the image that you see embedded above. Evidently, it says PDF, which presumably points to a possible PDF based jailbreak exploit.
Now we don't know which devices this will support and for what firmwares this will be compatible with, but there is a strong possibility that JailbreakMe 3.0 may finally jailbreak iPad 2.
