The iPhone Dev Team has finally released redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Windows. Using the latest redsn0w release, you can jaibreak iOS 5 beta 1 tethered on your Windows PC.
Previously, only Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Mac was released, meaning that it was impossible for Windows users to jailbreak iOS 5 tethered on their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Please do keep in mind that this is a tethered jailbreak and will require you to connect your iOS 5 device to the computer every time you boot it up. If you don't boot tethered, your device will simply display the Apple logo, and won't start up. So if you don't want that, then stay away from tethered iOS 5 jailbreak right now.
Also, if you're on a software unlocked iPhone, we will strongly advise you to not to upgrade to stock iOS 5 beta as there is no iOS 5 unlock available as of now.
Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 supports these devices:
- iPod touch 3G
- iPod touch 4G
- iPad 1
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone4 (GSM)
- iPhone4 (CDMA)
