JailbreakMe 3.0 iPad 2 jailbreak release isn't that far off. While we're anxiously awaiting an iPad 2 jailbreak, word from JailbreakMe developer @Comex is that all those who are waiting to jailbreak their iPad 2 should save their iOS 4.3.x SHSH blobs. Now why would he ask you to that? Explanation after the jump.
The iPad 2 started shipping on March 11 and when it came in the hands of the devs, we got to know that it was going to be hard to jailbreak iPad 2 primarily because the iPad 2 features the new A5 processor which is not susceptible to the Limera1n bootrom exploit, the one which is used to jailbreak all current iOS devices. Up till now, only Comex has been able to preview his iPad 2 jailbreak. We've heard that the Chronic Dev Team is also working on a new program, which won't be Greenpois0n but will jailbreak the iPad 2.
So why save iOS 4.3.x SHSH blobs of iPad 2 again? Well yesterday we reported that Apple will soon end the ability to downgrade firmware using saved SHSH blobs. This will be turned on when the GM build of iOS 5 is shipped. What this means is that it is not going to be possible to downgrade from iOS 5. We also already know that JailbreakMe 3.0 iPad 2 jailbreak only supports firmware up to iOS 4.3.3, and won't jailbreak your iPad 2 if its on iOS 5, beta 1 or beta 2 for now.
If you don't know how to save iOS 4.3.x SHSH blobs of your iPad 2, You can save SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella. We strongly recommend that you save SHSH blobs of your iPad 2 now and that you keep them safe with you. Preferably, you should also email a copy of SHSH blobs cache to yourself so that they are completely safe, just in case something happens to the physical drive on your computer.
Comex has previously revealed that iPad 2 jailbreak using JailbreakMe 3.0 is going to be fast. We don't know when exactly he is planning to release his iPad 2 jailbreak, however we are anxiously waiting for it.
