How To Jailbreak iPad 2 Untethered iOS 4.3.3 Using JailbreakMe 3.0

Just moments earlier we reported that the JailbreakMe 3.0 iPad 2 jailbreak website went live and that it is now possible to jailbreak iPad 2 on iOS 4.3.3 as Comex is working on adding support for older firmwares as well. Now this tutorial is going to break down the procedure in easy steps for you to learn how to jailbreak your iPad 2 using JailbreakMe 3.0 on iOS 4.3.3.

Before you go on with this procedure, you must upgrade your iPad 2 to iOS 4.3.3 as support for older firmwares is yet to be added in JailbreakMe 3.0. Previously, we told all of you, on Comex's directive, to save iPad 2 iOS 4.3.3 SHSH blobs so that it is easier for you to jailbreak iPad 2 once JBme goes live.

Follow the steps given down below to easily jailbreak your iPad 2 untethered on iOS 4.3.3 using JailbreakMe 3.0.

Step 1: Launch mobile Safari on your iPad 2.

Step 2: Tap the address bar and type in the following URL: www.jailbreakme.com.

JailbreakMe website will now open up.

Step 4: Tap where it says Free, under the Cydia icon.

Step 5: Now tap the green coloured button which says Install.

Once you tap Install, you'll notice that Cydia begins downloading on your iPad 2 similar to how an app is downloaded from the iTunes App Store. Once the download finishes, simply tap on the Cydia icon to launch it and browse through the Cydia store on your iPad 2. Congratulations, as your iPad 2 is now fully jailbroken, untethered, on iOS 4.3.3.

Note: If you encounter the following error message: "There was a problem downloading the jailbreak files. Wrong content type." Simply clear mobile Safari from the multitasking tray, launch it again and repeat all of the steps. It will work just fine.

        upgraded my iphone 4 (previous JB) to 4.3.3 as well as ipad. Ipad JB went seamless this morning but second ipad is getting invalid checksum error. iphone 4 required restore back to original then it worked. Prior to restore it would start to download and disappear over and over

          1. Go to settings
          2. Go to the safari tab
          3. Clear cache, history, and cookies.
          4. Go to jailbreakme.com and enjoy

    Having issues installing to iPhone 4. I click the install and it takes me to the iPhone home, I see the Cydia icon downloading..once it gets to installing it immediately just disappears. I have restarted the phone, killed safari in the multi app. Did a search for Cydia and nothing. What I haven’t done is do a complete clean install of the phone. The phone is on iOS4.3.3 (8J2) Hope this info helps.

      It would’ve been nice to include that we needed to do a fresh install in the notes by the developer. Love Cydia, but i don’t know that I have the time or desire to wipe my phone, rebuild it, put cydia on, then restore my iphone apps, then restore all my cydia apps. I would’ve waited till this is resolved…..

    After i jailbreak ipad 2 (64GB 3G firmware 4.3) it worked fine. Then, I update new firmware from apple 4.3.3 and tried jailbreak the device. Cydia download OK but disappear when installation.

      If you’re facing this issue, do a fresh iOS installation on your iPad 2 and then retry the jailbreak. It will work fine then.

      Download iOS 4.3.3 IPSW for your iPad 2 from here: http://tinyurl.com/3bwkswj

      Then connect your iPad 2 to the computer. Launch iTunes. Now press both Home and Power button for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, release the Power button but keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes your iPad 2 in restore mode. If you’re on Windows, press and hold Shift and click on Restore. If on Mac, you need to press and hold the alt key. Now select the iOS 4.3.3 ipsw for iPad 2 that you previously downloaded. iTunes will begin restoring iOS 4.3.3 on your iPad 2. After that, you can proceed with the jailbreak.

    ok from what i understand here, you do not use redsnow & computer to jailbreak your ipad 2 its all done on the pad itself ! YES?
    now i know ipad 2 has gone up to 4.3.4 so just to clarify
