Save iOS 4.3.4 iPhone, iPad, iPod touch SHSH Blobs Using TinyUmbrella v5.00.05

Just yesterday, Apple released iOS 4.3.4 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Subsequently Notcom, developer of TinyUmbrella updated the software to v5.00.05 which now allows us to save iOS 4.3.4 iPhone, iPad and iPod touch SHSH blobs on our Windows and Mac computers.

A word from the developer:

Apple has finally come out with their 'fix' for the pdf vulnerability that JailbreakMe 3.0 uses to jailbreak devices. In proper good form, @comex has released a much better* fix for the vulnerability which also incidentally allows you to stay jailbroken

I've updated TinyUmbrella to save 4.3.4 SHSHs (as well as the other ones Apple is still signing). So grab the latest if you want to save 4.3.4 for nothing else than for the sake of completeness.

If you're alien to this concept, you'll probably be wondering why you need to save these SHSH blobs and stuff. Basically, you need saved SHSH blobs to downgrade iOS firmware to an older version. Saving SHSH blobs of iOS 4.3.x right now is important as once iOS 5 gets released, downgrading from it will be impossible.

Apple is currently signing iOS 4.3.3 as well. If you're looking to jailbreak iPad 2 iOS 4.3.3, it is imperative that you download TinyUmbrella v5.00.05 right now and save the SHSH blobs, before Apple stops signing them and you are left with no way to downgrade iOS 4.3.4 to iOS 4.3.3. If you have any other iOS device, just save iOS 4.3.4 SHSH for the sake of completing your SHSH collection.

Follow the steps given below to save iOS 4.3.4 iPhone, iPad, iPod touch SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella.

Step 1: Download TinyUmbrella v5.00.05 for Windows and Mac. [Direct Links]

Step 2: Those running Windows Vista or Windows 7, need to make the following changes in order for TinyUmbrella to function correctly. It is imperative that you do this before running TinyUmbrella v5.00.05.

  • Right click on TinyUmbrella.exe and click on Properties.
  • Click on the Compatibility tab.
  • Check box that reads Run this program in compatibility mode for followed by selecting Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the drop down menu.
  • Don't forget to check Run this program as an administrator as well before clicking on Apply.
Step 3: After you have done this procedure, run TinyUmbrella and click on the Advanced tab. Few changes need to be made here as well. Due to the fact that Cydia will soon stop hosting SHSH, please ensure that you uncheck Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit as well as Request SHSH from Cydia, before you proceed any further.
Step 4: Now click on the General tab. TinyUmbrella will begin to save iOS 4.3.4 SHSH blobs when you click on Save SHSH. The spinner before the name of your device in the left hand column will indicate that TinyUmbrella is working.
Saved SHSH blobs will be shown down below once TinyUmbrella is finished saving the SHSH blobs.
To find out where TinyUmbrella saves the SHSH blobs, click on the Advanced tab and you'll get to know where the blobs are saved.
There you have it! iOS 4.3.4 iPhone, iPad, iPod touch SHSH blobs saved on your computer, meaning that you can now restore to any iOS firmware whose SHSH blobs that you have saved. If you face any problems in this procedure, do not hesitate to leave a comment below. Our team will help you out immediately.

when I start TU on my MBP with OS X 10.6.8, it says:

    TinyUmbrella: Reticulating splines…

    and “finishes”.

    In consol log there is:

Hi, does that mean that I can no longer downgrade my iOS to 4.3.3 if I did not save my SHSH previously before? TinyUmbrella states that “CYDIA DOES NOT HAVE YOUR SHSH FOR iPod4G 4.3.3 (8J2) THERE IS NO WAY FOR YOU TO GET THEM. SORRY. YOU ARE JUST TOO LATE.”

I am currently running iOS4.3.4 and I am interested to try out an untethered jailbreak. Thank you!

No way for you to downgrade back to iOS 4.3.3 now. Sorry!
