Just a little heads up for those who have bee envious of Mac users having the ability to sync wirelessly with iTunes 10.5 beta. When Apple seeded iOS 5 beta 4 yesterday, it came bearing support for wireless iTunes syncing of iPhone, iPad, iPod touch running the latest beta firmware with the latest pre-release iTunes 10.5 beta on Windows.

Apple announced iOS 5 at WWDC 2011 on June 6th. One of the amazing 250 new features was the wireless syncing between iDevices running iOS 5 and iTunes on Windows and Mac. When Apple started seeding beta iOS 5 firmware for developers, it was discovered that wireless syncing was only supported between devices running iOS 5 beta and Macs running the latest pre-release beta of iTunes.

However, with the release of iOS 5 beta 4, that changes as Apple finally brings support for wireless syncing of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iTunes on Windows.

In iOS 5 beta 4, wireless syncing is now available on Windows as well as the Mac (requires OS X 10.6.8 or Lion)You will see an option to enable wireless syncing when you connect your device to iTunes with the USB cable. It is recommended you perform your initial sync with a cable after restoring your device.

For wireless syncing to work, the device and the computer should both be on the same Wi-Fi network. Currently in beta state, it is imperative that you are runing the latest iTunes beta that brings wireless syncing support for Windows. Also keep in mind that previous iTunes beta will not support the latest iOS 5 beta firmware for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and you shall not be able to sync your device that is running iOS 5 beta 4 with any previous iTunes pre-release beta. For that, you need iTunes 10.5 beta 4 that was seeded alongside iOS 5 beta 4 yesterday.

Very soon, we shall post a video detailing how to set up iOS 5 wireless syncing on your Windows PC. However, before you try that out, you will need the following files:
