We use the iPad for a variety of tasks. Typing emails and surfing the web are the two most common tasks that we do on our favourite tablet. Naturally, we'd like to have the ultimate ease of typing on our tablet and for that, we'd like to use external keyboard. Well you're in luck if you own an iPhone or iPod touch alongside an iPad, because now you can transform your iPhone or iPod touch in to a wireless external keyboard for the iPad.
Many of you might be thinking that there are going to be complex steps involved and using your iPhone or iPod touch as an external keyboard for iPad would require you to jailbreak it. Actually that's not the case, you simply have to download an app from the iTunes App Store on both your iPad and your iPhone or iPod touch and you are good to go. It's literally as simple as that.
The app, aptly titled External Keyboard, forms a connection between your iPad and your device over either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The best thing about this app is that it lets you use your keyboard in all of the languages on the iPhone, iPod touch that are otherwise not available on the iPad itself.
However, there are a few downsides to this as well. For starters, the app must be running on both the iPad and the device in order for you to use it. For the iPad, this app functions as a web browser in which you can enter text wirelessly using your device. If you want to compose emails, only the email body can be punched in on the iPad using your iPhone or iPod touch, the finer details such as the subject of the email and the recipients email address still have to be added on the iPad.
It's still hard to comprehend why anyone would download this app on both their iPad and iPhone, iPod touch. Please note that this app is not free and you'll have to part with $0.99 in order to purchase it from the App Store.
