Just yesterday we reported that October 21st is a possible iPhone 5 release date and now it looks like we really might be seeing next generation iPhone launch by mid October. We've heard that T-Mobile Germany is allowing its customers to reserve the iPhone 5 well before its official release.
Deutsche Telekom owned operator T-Mobile iPhone 5 release date hasn't been released as yet because we know that Apple initially begins selling its new productions in the USA. We had previously heard that iPhone 5 USA launch will be in second week of September followed by a global iPhone 5 launch in October. However, September is here and we have yet to receive an invite from Apple of the iPhone 5 release event. All signs point to an October iPhone 5 release.
T-Mobile Germany is giving "Premieren Tickets" to its existing consumers. Basically, they are giving away these premier tickets for Apple's yet-to-be-released smartphone so that these customers are able to get iPhone 5 as soon as it comes out. These are support tickets for those who know well enough that this isn't the perfect time to buy an iPhone 4. Only one ticket per customer is being handed out to T-Mobile Germany's subscribers.
Deutsche Telekom has confirmed that this really is happening:
Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE) will allow customers to reserve the next generation of Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone as of today in anticipation of supply bottlenecks for the device, spokesman Alexander von Schmettow said by phone.
The operator will hand out coupons to people who expressly request the successor model to the iPhone 4, without providing the name or release details of the device, he said.
Those who have received these tickets from Deutsche Telekom will be given the iPhone 5 on a first come first served basis. The company itself is pretty hushed up about this offering and they have refrained from advertising this on a large scale. These iPhone 5 premier tickets can be obtained by calling or visiting the retail outlets of T-Mobile Germany. However, it looks like T-Mobile Germany is acting on rumours about the iPhone 5 release because Apple doesn't notify its carrier partners about release dates long beforehand.
As far as the iPhone 5 release date is concerned, that is still shrouded in a lot of mystery. October 21st is a possibility but we can not be sure until and unless that invite from Apple comes in. The good thing is, if you live in Germany, you can now get a premier ticket for Apple's next generation iPhone.
So who's getting one?
