iPhone 5 release is just around the corner and that is added more life to the rumour mill. Take this particular one for example, which claims that the picture you see in this post has actually been taken from the 8 megapixel camera of the iPhone 5. The picture has been embedded below so that you can check iPhone 5 camera result for yourself.
One can instantly see that this picture has not been taken using the camera on an iPhone 4. This particular picture has a resolution of 2235 x 2291, which is approximately 5.12 megapixels. However, the EXIF file reveals that this picture has been cropped to this aforementioned resolution and that its original resolution was 3264x2448, which is approximately 8 megapixels. If this really is true, then you can certainly check iPhone 5 camera result in this picture. The level of detail and the sharpness of colours are indeed spectacular. Moreover, The EXIF file also reveals the camera to have a lens of 4.3mm f/2.4, wheras the iPhone 4 has a 3.85mm f/2.8 lens so it is again not possible that this picture was taken using an iPhone 4.
Alongside this picture, it was reported that an Apple employee took this photo while he was at lunch. One might debate the legitimacy of such a claim, but there's no harm if you really do want to check iPhone 5 camera result and this is the closest possible lead, is there? Some might altogether question the authenticity of EXIF file, the information of which can easily be altered using software. So that's why we tout this as only a rumour now, as much as want to believe that the next generation iPhone is coming with an amazing 8 megapixel camera, if not more.
We know that Apple conducts field trial tests of its devices before releasing them to the public, maybe that's why an iPhone 5 was spotted at the subway. Nevertheless, it doesn't make sense for an Apple engineer to leak a picture taken from a camera of an iPhone that Apple will go to extremes to preserve before official launch. There is also a possibility that this picture was taken by the cheap iCloud iPhone, which is allegedly going to be the striped down version of the iPhone 4 with less on board storage as it will be running heavy on iCloud.
Choose what you wish to believe, but if this image is from a low cost iCloud iPhone, then it means that the iPhone 5 will be packing an even bigger punch when it drops down to cameras. Come October 21st, the rumoured iPhone 5 release date, and all of this mystery will finally unravel itself before us when the new Apple CEO takes the stage to introduce Apple's next generation flagship smartphone.
