Sprint iPhone 5 With Unlimited Data Plan To Release Next Month

A lot is being said about the upcoming iPhone 5. Earlier we had reported that Sprint is getting iPhone 5 and now it has come to our attention that the company will release Sprint iPhone 5 with unlimited data plan, obviously to give itself edge over its competitors.

When Apple launched the first iPhone back in 2007, AT&T was given exclusivity to sell it in the USA. AT&T sells the GSM iPhone through its retail network with a two year contract and has since long dropped its unlimited data plan for iPhone. Earlier this year, Apple ended AT&T's exclusivity by launching the CDMA Verizon iPhone 4, while sales were impressive, even Verizon does not offer any unlimited iPhone data plan.

Even if you don't own an iPhone, you probably would know that the iPhone is a data hungry smartphone. Due to the fact that users have access to hundreds of thousands of applications on the App Store, with most of them requiring data connection, an unlimited data plan is a top priority for most iPhone owners, as nobody likes to pay for a data plan on top of a voice plan. If the Sprint iPhone 5 does come with an unlimited data plan for which the company charges a flat fee per month, it could most definitely be a hit amongst potential buyers of the iPhone 5.

Sprint has a well established CDMA network in the USA and the Sprint iPhone 5 will definitely be a CDMA iPhone. So if the company does offer Sprint iPhone 5 unlimited data plans, it will become the only carrier in the whole country to offer an unlimited iPhone data plan, giving it a huge edge over its competitors AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Since this is going to be the first time that Sprint will begin to sell the iPhone through its retail network, they would obviously want to draw as many potential customers as they can and offering an unlimited data plan for iPhone seems a sure fire way to lure in more customers. There's a huge possibility that this might actually be true as Sprint already offers unlimited data plans for BlackBerry and HTC devices sold through its retail network.

It was also reported that the iPhone 5 will have support for all U.S. carriers and some have even hinted that T-Mobile USA will also get iPhone 5. While those speculations should still be taken with a pinch of slat, a Sprint iPhone 5 release is most likely on the cards. From what we've heard up till now, the iPhone 5 will be released on October 21st, while preorders start September 30th.
