  • Select "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the drop down menu.

Step 1: Locate hosts file by opening this path: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Step 2: Drag the file to your desktop. Right click and open with Notepad. Administrator Privileges required.
Step 3: Any lines that have numbers followed by gs.apple.com have to be removed. Save changes after doing that.
Step 4: Drag file back to its original location. Select Yes to rewrite when prompted.

Note: Windows users bear in mind that when you save changes to hosts file, it should not have an extension. If you save it as "hosts.txt" this will not work.

Once you've done these procedures on your respective computers, simply restart then for these changes to take effect. After your computer restarts, to check if this has been successful simply open your internet browser and type in gs.apple.com and it should redirect you to www.apple.com/404 and not Cydia.
