We're anxiously awaiting the release of iPhone 5 and it was recently reported that Apple will release its new iPhone in October. It is actually very likely that we'll watch iPhone 5 release event on October 4, when Tim Cook takes the stage to announce Apple's new flagship smartphone.
October 4 2011 happens to be a Tuesday. According to people familiar with the matter, the Apple Media Event 2011 will be held on the aforementioned date. Apple will announce its long awaited update of the iPhone which was previously rumoured for release at WWDC 2011.
Previously we have read a lot of reports about an iPhone 5 release in October. For a couple of weeks many thought that October 21 was when Apple would reveal iPhone 5. A little while after that, it was said that Orange CEO revealed that the fifth generation iPhone will be released on October 15. After that, another rumour surfaced pegging the iPhone 5 release on October 7. Now this particular source claims October 4 as a possible iPhone 5 release date. Nevertheless Apple can change the dates whenever they feel like but it has been said that iPhone 5 shipments will begin a couple of weeks after the announcement has been made, which would hopefully be on October 4 as we for one have gone weary of release date rumours and speculations.
Apart from the iPhone 5 itself, we're anxious to see how Apple's new CEO Tim Cook handles his biggest product unveiling since being given the top spot at Apple. Up till now, each year we have been mesmerized by former CEO Steve Jobs who left the audience hanging to his every word at product announcements and is well known for his amazing presentation skills. For Tim Cook, the iPhone 5 release event is going to be challenge in itself.
As far as the iPhone 5 is concerned, there is no official word as yet on its features and specification. Rumours hint of a thin and tapered design with possibly a bigger screen. An 8-megapixel camera has also been rumoured. What we know for sure is that the iPhone 5 will come bearing the dual-core A5 processor, the one Apple put inside iPad 2.
We look forward to watch iPhone 5 release event and this particular source does have a good track record of predicting Apple's plans. We'd love to finally see the iPhone 5 and maybe Steve Jobs would make a guest appearance after all. The best of both worlds, who wouldn't love that right?
