Apple has just seeded iOS 5 GM build which is the final beta of iOS 5 for developers and non-developers alike. iOS 5 GM is going to be very similar to the final iOS 5 version for public, so be sure to lookout for any new features in iOS 5 GM for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Ever since iOS 5 was revealed at WWDC 2011, Apple has seeded seven betas to its developers. From the first bug laden iOS 5 beta to the much improved latest beta we tested, Apple’s most extensive iOS update does not cease to amaze us. Now you can finally download iOS 5 GM and try it out for yourself regardless of worrying about being a registered Apple developer.
Apple only releases beta firmware to developers registered in the iPhone Developer Program. The cost of this registration is $99 per year, a price many non developers will not be willing to pay just because they want some hands-on time with iOS 5. Luckily for them we here at iPhoneism have always uploaded iOS 5 beta ipsws and today is no exception. You’ll be able to download iOS 5 GM ipsw from the links given at the end of this article.
Since beta firmware is only released to developers, Apple requires all developers to registered their device UDIDs before they can install any iOS beta firmware on it. What do non developers in that case? If you know a developer, the easiest way would be asking them to register your device UDID or requesting us for a free UDID registration. If you don’t know what a UDID is, follow this guide.
When you download iOS 5 GM do keep in mind that this is going to be the final iOS 5 beta release as iOS 5 public release is merely days away.
