October 4 is finally here and in less than 30 minutes the Let's Talk iPhone event is about to kick off at Apple Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino California. We'll be bringing you all of the updates in this Let's Talk iPhone event liveblog.
Apple is not providing an official livestream of this event, however the videos will be posted on their YouTube channel after the event ends. Not everyone has been invited by Apple, but still it is possible for you to catch all of the excitement in this Let's Talk iPhone event liveblog. Lot's of speculation regarding what CEO Tim Cook is going to unveil. The slightly refreshed iPhone 4S, the cheap iPhone 4 or the radically redesigned iPhone 5? We shall know for sure in about half an hour.

- Media registration is underway at Apple Town Hall Auditorium
- Japanese Apple website is displaying October 14 as iPhone 4S release date

- Tim is out, can see him now!
- "I consider it a privilege of a lifetime to have worked here for almost 14 years and I am very excited about this new role. I want to welcome you to this campus, it serves kind of a second home for many of us" - Tim Cook on stage NOW!
- It was in this auditorium, the Apple Town Hall, that 10 years ago Apple launched the first iPod. Steve Jobs made the announcements back then.
- Tim says today we'll learn about innovations in software and hardware that will create a powerful yet simple integrated experience
- Tim Cook talking about Apple Retail. Reviewing two Chinese Apple Stores
- On opening weekend, the Shanghai store welcomed over 100,000 visitors
- Its amazing, as the L.A store took over a month to get 100,000 over all
- As always, a retail promo video is now being shown. The suspense is mounting!

- Now updates on iOS. Scott Forstall has taken the stage
- "iOS is number one mobile operating system" - Duh!
- 18 Billion total app downloads from the App Store
- There's a new app today called Cards. It allows you to create and mail beautiful cards right from your iPhone or iPod touch
- Simply pick the picture you want on the card and Apple will print it out for you on 100% high quality cotton paper. U mad Hallmark?
- Apple assigned postage will be attached to these cards. $2.99 in the US and $4.99 for the rest of the world.

- Yes, its the iPhone 4S!
- iPod touch will now be available in white as well. 8GB is now $199, 32GB for $299, 64GB for $399. Shipping starts October 12.
- Finally, now talking about the iPhone !

- Siri Assitant feature of iPhone 4S revealed
- Siri does everything you ask it to do, just by using your voice
- Wow! Siri really is amazing! You can get weather updates, get it to set alarms for you and even stock updates just by telling it what you need
- Siri will read out your text messages for you. Particularly helpful if your iPhone 4S is in your pocket and you are wearing a bluetooth headset
- Siri will also make calendar appointments to you and will read back the task when it is done
- Siri can search Wikipedia and WolframAlpha if you want it to
- You can also compose and dictate emails using Siri
- Scott says about Siri: "It’ll be built-in with support for English, French, and German. It will be beta at the start; by beta we mean we’ll add more languages and services over time.”
