iOS 5 iTunes App Comes With New Tones Store

Apple has added a new tones store in the iOS 5 iTunes app. iOS 5 was finally released to public yesterday for support iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.

The iTunes Store on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch now includes the Tone Store — an incredible spectrum of music ringtones and alert tones that can be assigned to any alert setting on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Its not a major update to the iTunes app, though being a minor one its likely to have been missed by many who are too busy playing with over 200 new features of iOS 5.

It is already known that you can purchase ringtones from the iTunes app, that's nothing new. There are quite a number of amazing custom alert tunes that you can purchase from the Tones section in iTunes app on your iOS 5 running iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Star Wars fan should rejoice as the Tones section has many custom alert tones adapted from Star Wars movies, on sale. Then again, who doesn't love Star Wars movies? If you have believed in the fact that the best things in life are free, time to change your expectations as these custom alert tones are not free. You can purchase them using the iTunes app for $0.99 a piece whereas the Ringtones are still priced at $1.29.

iOS 5 was released yesterday after being in beta for more than four months. This is Apple's most extensive update to the iOS mobile platform. iOS 5 comes with over 200 new features which include but are not limited to the brand new Notification Center and iMessage. Browsing internet using Safari on iOS 5 is snappier and performance has been improved overall. All iOS 5 future updates will be released over the air, these OTA updates will be delta updates meaning that no more downloading iOS firmware files with ridiculous file sizes. Only the changes will be downloaded. iOS 5 is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPod touch 3G and iPod touch 4G.
