Following insane demand after its initial launch in seven countries, tomorrow Apple opens up iPhone 4S pre-orders for another 22 countries. Shipments will start roughly in 1-2 weeks.
After being announced on October 4, iPhone 4S pre-orders for seven countries namely USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, France and Germany opened on October 7. On the first day alone Apple received over 1 million pre-orders of iPhone 4S making it the fastest selling iPhone to date. On their first weekend since sales had opened up, Apple reported that they had sold over 4 million units in just the aforementioned seven countries.
Starting tomorrow, if you live in Singapore, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Czech Republic, Latvia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Slovakia Slovenia, Sweden or Mexico, you can pre-order the iPhone 4S online and Apple will start shipping your orders in 1-2 weeks from date of pre-order.
It is expected that Apple has sufficient stock to meet orders in these countries. As of now, the iPhone 4S has sold out on all carriers in the USA and Apple has run out of its initial pre-order stock. Delivery times for the first seven countries now stand at over two weeks as Apple moves ahead to cater the iPhone 4S demand in a host of other countries. They previously said that shipments will start from October 28 however considering the fact that a demand supply shortfall is imminent, the delivery dates have been moved up to 1-2 weeks. Apart from these countries, Apple has also declared that the shipment of iPhone 4S devices in another 70 countries is to start by the end of 2011.
The iPhone 4S truly is Apple's most successful iPhone launch ever. This was said when the iPhone 4 was released and mind you it was a total update to the iPhone 3GS with an all new design and improved specifications. While the iPhone 4S does disappoint those who had their hopes pinned up for a totally redesigned iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S has turned out to be the fastest selling iPhone in history. No changes were made to the design, the only improvements made are those found under the hood. Nevertheless, that does not mean consumers will not go crazy on the iPhone 4S, which they evidently have.
