With the release of iPhone 4S having just passed by, it is not new to us that there is a possibility of an iPad 3 being released in March of 2012. It is true that an iPad is going to be released in that month, but its likely for it to not be the iPad 3. Rather, expect an iPad 2S, for want of a better name.
Digitimes reports citing sources that Apple's next generation iPad is expected to go in production very soon, however Apple will not be calling this device iPad 3, which is the rightful title of the true next generation iPad. So what is this mystical iPad device? It is claimed that this iPad is just an upgraded iPad 2 which is slimmer and has a longer battery life.
This iPad should be made available for sale instead of the rumored iPad 3, by March 2012.
The iPad 3 was originally rumoured for release in March 2012, completing the full one year release cycle of Apple. A major redesign had been hinted, apart from the fact that iPad 3 will come with a quad-core A6 processor with greater RAM and possibly a Retina Display as well. A little while back word came from Apple's suppliers that they were having troubles manufacturing Retina Display for Apple's next generation iPad.
Other than the high resolution display, it was anticipated that in light of the orders made to Dynapack and Simplo for thinner batteries, the iPad 3 will be thinner and as well as lighter than its already radically thinner predecessor, the iPad 2. These new batteries were also supposed to last longer and add more to the legendary 10 hour battery life of iPad. The report claims that Apple will launch real iPad 3 by third quarter of 2012. However, it does not explicitly define the term real iPad 3.
Apple has just had its most successful iPhone launch ever, given the fact that iPhone 4S comes with no design changes at all. Apple has already proved that it does not need to change the design in order to have a perfect and successful product launch. If things really are changing under the leadership of Tim Cook, its possible that Apple will release iPad 2S in March 2012 with minor upgrade that will include better cameras, longer battery life, even thinner profile and Siri virtual assistant on iPad.
What do you think, will Apple pull another S iDevice release in March 2012?
