Interestingly, an app that claimed to do iOS untethered jailbreak was available on the App Store briefly before being removed by Apple. What's interesting to note that there is no such legitimate app for this purpose and what's even more interesting is that it made its way to the highly moderated App Store.

It is very well known that many people are waiting for a new jailbreak solution that will liberate, for want of a better word, their iOS devices, particularly the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. The folks behind this app thought it would be fun to take trolling to the next level, and they did indeed as their app made it through to the App Store given the fact that each app submitted is granted approval after intense scrutiny.

As you can see in the App Store screenshot above, the app claims to jailbreak all firmware versions right down from iOS 3.0 to the latest iOS 5.0 firmware. If that was not even, this fake jailbreak app also claims to jailbreak every iteration of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. We can only fathom who could be naive enough to fall for this, because this jailbreak app was priced at $9.99.

This fake jailbreak app won't prove to be harmful for your device if you actually did purchase and install it. This jailbreak app is merely a harmless game and as we said before, takes trolling to a whole new level. Imagine the look on somebody's face when they install an app that's supposed to jailbreak their device and upon launching that app it's discovered that $9.99 were blown away on a game that one would have purchased for that exorbitant price.
