Earlier today, TinyUmbrella has been updated with support for iOS 5.0.1. You can now save iPhone 4S SHSH blobs of iOS 5.0.1 as well as those of other supported devices by downloading the latest TinyUmbrella version on your Windows or Mac machine.

TinyUmbrella version 5.01.00 comes with support for saving iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs on all devices that support the latest firmware as well as iPhone 4S. While we already know that it is impossible to downgrade from iOS 5, until a workaround is developed for that it is advised that you at least save iPhone 4S SHSH blobs, just to be on the safe side for when a solution does surface.

At this point in time, there's not even a jailbreak for iPhone 4S. The iPhone Dev Team has demoed a jailbreak on video but it is still far from public release. A lot of work needs to be done on it before it becomes fit for public use. Obviously, the first priority of developers is to get an iPhone 4S jailbreak out as quickly as possible and once than happens, focus will be shifted towards developing a solution to downgrade iOS 5 firmware back to previous versions. As previously mentioned, even though such a solution can not be anticipated for quite some time, it is imperative that you save iPhone 4S SHSH blobs of iOS 5.0.1 firmware just so you have the ability to downgrade firmware when it becomes possible.

To serve that purpose, the developer of TinyUmbrella has released the latest version with tentative support for saving iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPod touch 3G and iPod touch 4G. You can now download TinyUmbrella from the links provided below on your Windows or Mac computer and save iPhone 4S SHSH blobs.

Be advised that if you have no previous knowledge on how to use TinyUmbrella, it is always best to consider a guide.
