It has merely been two days since year's most anxiously awaited game for iOS devices was released. Infinity Blade 2 was met with widespread joy after it was released but the launch didn't turn out to be smooth. Many users are reporting that they're experiencing Infinity Blade 2 crashing issue on their devices, a fix for which will be released very soon.
Infinity Blade 2 was first demoed at the iPhone 4S launch event back in October. The original Infinity Blade game was a huge hit and there is no doubt that Infinity Blade 2 is going to be even better. Even with the crashing issue, Infinity Blade 2 is currently the top-grossing paid game on iTunes Store and has over 900 five star reviews. The only one star reviews, around 60 to be precise, are due to this very crashing issue.
Users who most need the fix for Infinity Blade 2 crash issue are those who are running this game on the first generation iPad and the supported iPod touch models. In most complains, users claim they're facing this issue on these devices. On other supported devices, Infinity Blade 2 isn't crashing like crazy however its possible that the issue may persist on newer devices as well such as the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. The game usually crashes after the title screen is displayed once its launched from the Home screen.
VP of Epic Games, Chair's parent company Mark Rein posted a detailed explanation on the company's official Infinity Blade 2 forums. He claims that the Infinity Blade 2 crashing issue is specific to heavily laden original iPads and iPod touch devices because these devices are running out of memory. iOS caches all app icons even after you press the Home button to exit them. This is done to provide smooth performance. So if you have a device that is heavily loaded with apps, the device will run out of available memory causing Infinity Blade 2, which by no means is a light game, to crash. Mark says that until they release an update of Infinity Blade 2 that'll fix this issue, they're updating the description on iTunes so that people known before installing it on their devices.
