The Spotify iPad app is coming soon, it has been learnt. UK MD of Spotify Chris Maples has revealed that the iPad app is on priority and is absolutely in the pipeline. Spotify iPad app will be released in the next couple of weeks.

What is Spotify? The company describes it as the new way to listen to music. Spotify gives users access to millions of songs. All they have to do is run Spotify, search for the song that they want and start listening to it. Given the fact that its library houses millions of songs, there's a strong chance that you'll find the song you're looking for.

The best part about Spotify is that its supported on a number of platforms. There's already a Spotify app for iPhone and Android devices. It can also be used on Windows and Macs computers. Due to the fact that Spotify plays your music live, there's no agonizing wait for your downloads to finish. You can literally start listening to a song with Spotify in a matter of seconds. Just launch the app, search the song and start playing it. Spotify also allows you to share what you're listening to on a variety of social networks. If you can see on Facebook what you're friends are listening to on Spotify, simply clicking on that music post will cause that very same track to play at your end, once again, in a matter of seconds. Be advised though, currently Spotify has only been launched in Finland, France, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States. Spotify premium and unlimited accounts start from $4.99 per month.

Speaking to Pocketlint earlier today, UK MD of Spotify Chris Maples revealed that the Spotify app isn't far from release. Adding to that, Spotify stated that it was their vision to be available on every device possible and that they're working on new apps all the time. Given the fact that currently the service is only available for a select eight countries mentioned above, it could take a while for the new Spotify iPad app to be insanely popular. However we're quite sure that people residing in those very countries will be quite happy to see that pretty soon they'll be able to use Spotify on their favorite tablet, which undoubtedly is the iPad.
