Pod2g has been constantly posting updates about the status of his 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 3G, 4G and iPad 1. Today he has posted a video of the 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak iPhone 4 confirming that his jailbreak is now fully stable on the said smartphone.

Pod2g is a well known hacker in the jailbreak community. Earlier this year in November he revealed that he had found a exploit that could possibly tantamount to an untethered jailbreak on iOS 5. Later after rigorous testing he confirmed that the very same exploit also existed in iOS 5.0.1 firmware and that's when the 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak iPhone 4 became possible.

Today he has posted the 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak iPhone 4 video to reassure people who were doubting the credibility of this jailbreak on iPhone 4. Pod2g has already at numerous occasions revealed that his jailbreak is fully compatible with all iOS 5 supported devices, with the exception of iPad 2 and iPhone 4S as the jailbreak is currently being tested on them. Video embedded below:

Since iOS 4.3.3, no untethered jailbreak has been released for successive firmwares. The reason is that Apple patched a number of exploits in its firmware updates hence. Pod2g's 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak iPhone 4 is going to be the first fully stable and working untethered jailbreak for all iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1 devices. It won't work with devices running firmwares older than iOS 5.0 so now is probably the best time to upgrade your devices.

On the other hand, regardless of the fact that pod2g has made iPhone 4S untethered jailbreak on 5.0, 5.0.1 iOS ready, a lot of testing still remains to be done before the jailbreak is released to the public. In his blog post today pod2g states that 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak iPhone 4 is nearly ready for prime time, meaning public release, with the exception of iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. We're not sure whether pod2g is planning to release this jailbreak first for devices other than the iPhone 4S and iPad or if he will release it after testing successfully finishes on ALL iOS 5 supported devices.

As of now, one can only guess when this 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak iPhone 4 is going to be released. A little birdie tells us that pod2g will be releasing it on Christmas, and if he does, its going to be the best Christmas present for jailbreakers all around the world.
