Images of a supposed iPod Nano 2012 model have surfaced. These images hint that Apple might be including a camera in the next model of iPod Nano.
Last year it was expected that Apple would update its line of iPods. However that did not happen. The company announced white iPod touch 4G and made some software changes to the insanely popular iPod Nano. In early 2011 a Taiwanese website posted photos of an iPod Nano case that had a hole for a possible camera aperture. At the time it was expected that the next iPod Nano would come with a 1.3 megapixel camera. It didn't happen in 2011, but that surely doesn't mean that an iPod Nano with camera isn't possible in 2012.
Apple.pro has posted some more images today of what might become the iPod Nano 2012. Once again these images show a camera aperture on this iconic iPod. The images also show a clip, which has become of of the defining features of iPod Nano. It is too soon to say that this might really happen. One thing is for sure though, there's nothing stopping Apple from doing it.
All iPod models are up for refresh this year. The company will release new models in 2012. As far as Apple products go, 2012 is actually a very good year. We have the next iPad lined up for release possible in March. Macbook models refresh by May. The next iPhone during Summer. The iPods at Apple's annual music event in September. Apple abides by its release cycles and it rarely happens that the company breaks this cycle. Though it should be kept in mind that nothing official is known right now about iPod Nano 2012 model. For all we know, it could turn out to be an entirely different device. You just don't know it with Apple.
Would you like Apple to release iPod Nano 2012 model with a camera? Or a camera is unfitting for the device entirely? The iPod Nano does have a very tiny touchscreen. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
