The last few weeks have brought up much speculation about Apple iPad 3 release date. Today some very well connected sources confirm that Apple is going to unveil it's latest tablet on March 7, 2012.
It was previously rumoured that Apple might announce their latest tablet in the first week of March. The company is known to follow it's release cycles. They announced iPad 2 back on March 2, 2011. The first week of March will mark one full year of iPad 2, which has been a phenomenally successful product worldwide.
This Apple iPad 3 release date was initially posted online by iMore. The website has a good track record as they were correct about iPhone 4S release date well before Apple said anything about it. They believe that the company intends to reveal iPad 3 on March 7, 2024 at the Yerba Buena Center For The Arts. This is the exact same venue used for announcements of original iPad in 2010 and iPad 2 in 2011.
If iMore's word isn't good enough for you, Jim Dalrymple of LoopInsight has also confirmed this. He responds with a single "Yep" on his blog. Jim is considered to have deep rooted connections with knowledge of Apple's plans and his predictions have a very good track record up till now. AllThingsD, another outlet with a good predictions record, previously reported that first week of March is when the new tablet will be announced. When almost similar reports come in from such well known and well connected sources, it is hard to refute the possibility of an iPad 3 announcement on March 7.
As far as specifications are concerned, a Retina Display is still rumoured. Despite various conflicting reports iMore still believes that the iPad 3 will tout Apple's latest quad-core A6 processor. 4G LTE support, better cameras and a bigger battery are expected as well.
Nevertheless we still can't be sure until Apple iPad 3 release date comes from the company itself. You just don't know it with Apple. We'll keep you updated on the whole scenario. Though you might want to clear your schedules for March 7, 2012.
