It's official! The iPad 3 release date is March 7. Apple has started sending out media invites and some media outlets have already received them. Your iPad 2 will be obsolete in less then 9 days from now.
As always, the invites don't reveal any major details. Apple just says that they have something we really have to see, and touch. These media invites have already been received by outlets such as The Loop and The Verge.
A little while back, some well connected sources had confirmed that iPad 3 release date is March 7. Since then there have been a number of other rumours. As it turns out, the sources were right. March 7 is the day when CEO Tim Cook will take the stage to unveil Cupertino's latest tablet. The event will take place at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California. This same location was used for announcement of both previous iPads. CNBC reported earlier today that iPad 3 will be announced next week in New York City, they got the timeframe right but not the city.
The keynote address will start at 10 AM PST. We're pretty sure that Apple has a few surprises up its sleeves. We'll be covering the iPad 3 release event extensively here on iPhoneism.com, so don't forget to log on March 7, 2012. We're just as excited as you are!
So, will 2012 be the year of iPad 3?
