Rumor has it that Apple will announce an A5X iPad 3 with multiple LTE and 3G models. The event takes place on March 7, 2024 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California. Apple has already sent out media invites.
The next generation iPad, which some call iPad 3 / iPad HD, will be announced a full year after iPad 2. The predecessor has been a phenomenal success delivering a record breaking quarter for Apple. There is no doubt that the iPad happens to be the world's most desired tablet. A survey conducted recently revealed that over 47% of iPad 2 owners are ready to buy the next iPad when it comes out. This also happens to be the first major product announcement of CEO Tim Cook, and we're all anxious to see how this turns out.
If you have been following up on rumors in the last couple of months, you'll be aware of the unimaginable amount of rumors that made it online. Some well connected sources had predicted that Apple will ditch the quadcore A6 processor and will use a dualcore A5X processor for the iPad 3. The reason given for this decision is that Apple wants to unveil the quadcore A6 with the iPhone 5 later this year. The A5X iPad 3 processor is similar to the A5 already present in iPhone 4S and iPad 2, but with improved graphics and more RAM. Chronicwire believes the iPad 3 will have 1GB of RAM.
Apart from A5X iPad 3 processor, much has been rumored about 4G LTE support in Apple's next tablet. The Verge believes that Apple will release multiple cellular enabled models of iPad 3 for AT&T and Verizon. The third cellular enabled model will support 3G networks as well as CDMA. The WiFi only model will obviously be available as well.
The good part is that all of this rumor crap will end once and for all after Apple makes the announcements. We're sure many will breathe a sigh of relief when the cat, so to speak, is finally out of the bag.
